BEACH HUT MACHINE

Concept Visual

01

A strange sight awaits visitors to the glorious beach at St Bees. Beach huts elevated on wheels, scarcely seen on Britain’s shores since the Victorian era, when such ‘Bathing Machines’ were a common sight. They can be moved close to the sea at low tide, and drawn back up the slipway in a storm. When ‘docked’ to the sea wall at the top of the beach, access is level and easy for all. When pushed out into the surf, they provide a swimming platform for more adventurous beachgoers.
