TIDEWATCHING
Conceptual Elevation
01
This competition proposal, for a 'station to watch the tides' has a simple goal; finding an alternative use for the blades of a wind turbine. Visitors are protected from wind and rain, and afforded a panoramic view of the horizon. At high water, it would be possible to stand above the crashing waves. To a walker or cyclist, it would seem as if these great forms had simply fallen off a turbine and floated to shore, brought in by the tide. The scheme was awarded a commendation by the jury.
